As April is coming to a close I wanted to talk about some of my favorite songs, brands, entertainment during quarantine, and more. Obviously with all of these adjustments to the “new normal”, we’ve all had to change our routines which means finding ways to fill boredom. I’ve found a lot of things to keep me distracted and give me some joy during all this chaos.
ON THE BLOG THIS MONTH

My latest post was focused around 90’s fashion which I LOVED. I had so much fun researching all the trends, especially ones that I could still connect to today’s fashion and trends. I also talked about how to take the perfect selfie, which was also super interesting to write about. In another blog posts this month, I talked about the controversial trend of tube tops. I for one still think they can make a stylish comeback without being basic, as long as you style it right. This was my first full month of blogging, and I’ve had a blast coming up and writing down things that spark a passion inside me. I’m so thankful that I started this journey and I can’t wait to see what May brings for my blog.
Now let’s start with some of my favorite products, sources of entertainment, and more during this long period of self isolation.
BEAUTY
- Too Faced Lip Gloss

Obviously I haven’t been putting much makeup on to walk down to my kitchen but when I am feeling like it, I’ll throw on some bronzer, blush, and mascara to take a few selfies just to feel normal. This lipgloss has seriously increased my selfie game though. I love the way it looks on and it sparkles just enough, but it’s not too overwhelming. I don’t have to reapply very often and it makes me feel so much more confident haha. It is kind of on the pricier side though, but I’m sure there are a few dupes out there that can substitute for it.
2. Eyebrow Razor
Alright, normally I would just go get my eyebrows waxed every few weeks or even pluck them (if I’m feeling like a warrior because I think plucking hurts so bad lol). However, under these circumstances an eyebrow razor was SO useful. I picked one up for like 10 bucks at TJ Maxx a few months ago, but you can seriously find a bunch on amazon and there’s even cheap ones that are a one time use.
TV SHOWS/MOVIES
- Outer Banks

This new Netflix series was released a few weeks into April and I was instantly hooked. The series only has 10 episodes but many are already begging Netflix for second season. It is by far one of the best shows I’ve watched with a very interesting plot and the acting is amazing. The balance of humor, romance, and action is perfect which is what makes the show so entertaining. There’s not a minute where you can pick up your phone and respond to some texts — you would miss too much! I definitely would recommend this show to anyone, it’s totally bingeable and I’m even thinking about watching it for a second round.
2. Money Heist

I’m only about a season into this show but I was immediately intrigued! A show that is originally in Spanish was modified for an English version and I’m so glad they did because the plot is so interesting and has so many plot twists that you never see coming. There are 4 parts which is nice because although you can binge, you won’t finish it in 2 days like Outer Banks and feel that emptiness inside afterwards haha. If you need a new show, I totally recommend investing in Money Heist.
BOOKS
- The Longest Ride

I’ve probably had this book on my shelf for the past 3 years and have just never had the time or motivation to start it. As much as quarantine sucks, at least we can now pick up a few things we haven’t had the time for. I started this book at the beginning of the month and let me just say, as much as I loved the movie, the book has already knocked my socks off and I’m only halfway through. It doesn’t mean you have to read for hours a day, but trust me, sneaking off into a quiet room away from my family for 30 minutes a day has really kept me sane and this book is AMAZING. If you are into romance and haven’t already read this one, I suggest you start now.
2. The Program Series

If you’re more into dystopian, sci-fi, or action books, this is a series for you. I started with the first book last summer and I was hooked. I’ve only gotten to book 3 but I think after I finish the Longest Ride I’m definitely going to start where I left off in this series because the plot is so intriguing. In a world where teen suicide is an epidemic, the only solution is “The Program”, where it wipes away all of your memories. There is so many plot twists and turns and once you start with the first book, you aren’t going to want to stop.
OTHER FAVS THIS MONTH
- Ostrich Lounge Chair
I found this chair on TikTok at the beginning of the month and I HAD to get it. Seriously this is the best lounge chair ever. It’s super easy to transport so I cannot wait to bring it to the beach. It also has a convertible like head rest that you can open up if you want to use your phone in the shade while you’re tanning your back which I am obsessed with. This chair has been amazing during the warmer days of quarantine and I totally recommend investing in one.
2. Music and Playlists
I have been so obsessed with making playlists for all kinds of moods and feelings, and I love finding other people’s to look for new music as well. My favorite album this month has been Harry Styles “Fine Line” which has probably been my favorite album since it came out but anyways. Also I’ve been loving BROCKHAPTON, Surfaces, The Hunts, and Mt. Joy. I’ll link my Spotify below if you wanna check out some of my playlists!

As unpredictable as May can be for this global pandemic and our future, I am excited to see what happiness May can bring. For me, this blog, my family and friends, and hopefully, some relief for the world. Even though we are all still stuck at home, we can always do things to cheer one another on and encourage each other.
