JUNE FAVORITES

June was by far my favorite month of blogging for many reasons. I’ve finally got into a groove and now posting twice a week consistently on Monday and Friday. I have also been active on my new Instagram for The Miss Megs (@themissmegs). Now that I don’t have to worry about school or sports, I am able to focus a lot on my blog. Honestly, the only other thing taking up my time is practicing driving and looking for jobs!! COVID has blocked off a lot of my job options but I’m still scavenging for one. I also just got my learner’s permit yesterday which I was supposed to test for in April. I’m excited to get behind the wheel and practice for my license, but it’s a little nerve-wracking. Alright, now that we’ve talked a whole lot about me, let’s talk about what was on the blog this month.

ON THE BLOG THIS MONTH

With my new posting schedule, I was able to upload 8 blog posts this month, which may not seem like a lot, but it’s a great start for a beginner like me! I got out a lot of content that I enjoyed shooting and writing for. I even got to get amazing photos with Madison and McKenzie (StyledByMckenz) which was so much fun and super helpful. I finally got my Shien bikinis and was able to share my thoughts on them (highly recommend) and I got to experiment with fun shoots like color combinations and how to style a halter top 4 different ways! Overall, an amazing month of blogging and I can’t wait to see what July (the best month!!) brings.

LET’S TALK FAVORITES

TV SHOWS:

This month I did a lot more reading than watching (surprising I know), but I did decide to binge this Netflix show called “The Society”. With a very interesting plot and an amazingly talented cast, this show was incredibly easy to binge. When they arrive home in their small town, they notice their families have completely vanished. With a new plot twist every episode, the show is one to keep you on your toes. I loved it and I would definitely suggest this to anyone looking for a short, binge-able show.

BOOKS:

This book was recommended to me by two of my closest friends, so I figured I would give it a try. It’s a non-fiction Christain book written about the author’s life experiences and encounters with faith. I’m only about a quarter of the way in since I’ve been so dedicated to The Selection series but I love to pick up this book when I’m looking for a quick read. Each chapter is a different story which I really like and many of these stories open my eyes to a perspective of Christianity I didn’t even know about.

I know I recommended this series last month but I truly didn’t know how much I would fall in love with the books. Within the last month, I finished books two and three and started book four. I’m completely obsessed with the storyline and characters and this series was the push I needed to get back into reading books. I’m very excited because there are rumors that a Netflix is creating a movie adaptation to this series!

BEAUTY:

My hair has always been very fine and thin, so finding products that could add some volume was pretty difficult. Whenever I need my hair to get some instant texture and volume I go to this product by Living Proof. It’s not quite as effective as a blow out or the magic a hairstylist can pull off but for a girl with flat hair like me, it works.

LOOKING INTO JULY

July!! One of my favorite months of the year with summer fun, warm weather, and my birthday month! I’m super excited to see what July brings for the blog but I also hope and pray for July to bring peace and change. I’ll link below ways to help and educate yourself.
