My last post about styling a basic white tee turned out really well and many of you said you would want to see more! So for my second blog post on styling basics, a few people asked how to style a skirt. I for one, am a huge lover of skirts because depending on the length/fit of the skirt you can match so many different tops, shoes, and accessories. I chose three completely different skirts to style three different ways and help you apply these tips to your own closet and style your skirts perfectly.
- Midi Skirt City Skirt
Lately, midi skirts have been my favorite type of skirt to style and wear. Sometimes, it’s hard to style them and that’s probably why you are hesitant to grab one of these, however, I found this city type look worked really well. Any graphic tee would look good with this look but I chose my fav NYC cropped tee. I also added a pair of sneaks to give it a casual vibe and the black bag and hat to incorporate the minimalistic city look. Overall, to style a midi skirt I say adding a graphic tee or white tank will do the trick.
2. Diggin’ the Denim
The next look revolves around styling jean skirts, which can be tricky depending on the style. The one I chose was a tight H&M skirt with a fun belt. Since the skirt is relatively tight, you could pair a loose tee shirt or like me, a tight crop top. For this look, I added a plaid tank top and to accessorize, I added a denim bag to match with the denim skirt. I also went with silver jewelry for outfit so I paired a dainty silver necklace and statement earrings as well.
3. Monochrome Mini Skirt
The last look for today’s post is styling a regular mini skirt. Everyone’s gotta have a basic mini skirt in their wardrobe and no matter how basic or unique it is, there’s always a way to match a top and accessories. For this look, I added a pink tube top to go with the pink tassel skirt to create the monochrome effect. For accessories, I went with gold jewelry and added some pink and gold statement earrings. For shoes, I added the classic gold heels to dress up the look and match with the gold jewelry. I’ve always loved monochrome looks, so this outfit was super fun to style and wear.
That’s three ways to style your favorite skirts! I love skirts because they’re easy and can be styled dressy and casual. I hope you guys have learned a few ways to style your skirts because I definitely recommend investing in a few if you haven’t already, no matter what your style preferences are.
