First Day Looks

To kick off the second blog post in my mini back to school series is first day looks! The first day of school is always a day to impress your friends and teachers, so why not show up in something that will make a statement? Your clothes are one of the first things people notice and they reveal your personal style. I’ve made so many new friends at school by just starting a conversation with “I love your shirt!” or “where’d you get your jeans?”. If you want to stand out on the first day of school (in school or on a zoom call lol) then keep reading for the three first day looks I styled.

1.FIERCE FIRST DAY

The first outfit is a basic combination but with the right shoes and accessories, it becomes super chic. These black denim shorts would be my go to jeans if I were going back to school because they match with so many tops. For this look, I paired them with this snakeskin body suit from Express, which makes them an ideal first day outfit. As for shoes, I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to rock these black booties from DSW to take this look from bland to eye-catching. They dress up a basic outfit from every day wear to first day statement which I love! However, I do want to point out that this look is also perfect for chunky sneakers especially if heels isn’t your go to shoe choice.

You can’t complete this first day statement look without a pair of statement earrings! I decided to keep this edgy vibe going by adding my Shein thunderbolt earrings. Just one item of clothing or accessory can really spice up the entire outfit, and it my case my shoes and earrings really brought it all together.

2. ALL DRESSED UP

Another great combo for your first day is a dress and espadrilles. You can never go wrong with a cute summer dress especially to impress everyone on your first day. I picked up this pinkish-red dress from Express and happened to have a pair of statement earrings to match! Of course I wouldn’t pass up an opportunity to wear statement jewelry so I had to wear them. If you have a strict dress code, you can always throw on a basic white tee underneath or a pretty cardigan overtop. Overall, this look is super presentable and dressy, an excellent choice for the first day of school!

3. CLASSY AND CHIC

This look radiates class. The wide pant jeans, a basic yet posh baby pink top, and to pull it all together, the pink block heels to match the top. This outfit is super modest and should oblige to all your dress code rules. I figured since the jeans and top could be seen as basic or boring, the heels could make the look super elegant and add the dressy factor.

That wraps it up! Three dressy looks for your first day back at school. No matter how your school year is starting (online or actually in school), I wish everyone the best year yet and for you all to be healthy and safe.

xoxo, megs
