AUGUST FAVORITES

The last month of the summer was quite a good one, in my blogging life and personal life! I have experienced so much growth this past month on my Instagram which is fabulous. I don’t look too much into numbers because as long as I’m growing and having a lot of engagement with my followers, it’s a good day. I’ve connected with tons of new bloggers and small businesses which is one of my favorite parts of blogging. I also put out a 3-part back to school series, even though I am fully online for my first semester. In my personal life, I used my last month of summer to do all sorts of exploring and fun things like cliff jumping, hiking, and boat days. Now onto September and the start of my junior year!

ON THE BLOG THIS MONTH

This month was another fantastic month of content! I started out the month with a bang, one of my best and most favorite blog posts, Best Clothing Colors Based On Hair Color. My two best friends helped me put together so many looks tailored for each hair color. Also this month came, How To: Build Your Wardrobe and 3 Modest Outfit Ideas, two posts that I’d like to turn into a series soon. Modest outfits can always come in handy for family events, church, or any strict dress codes you may have, so I think making more posts like that would be super popular. Also make sure to check out my back to school series if you’re online (like me) or in person, I’ve styled so many looks for this series! As always, if you have any requests or suggestions for future blog posts, don’t hesitate to email or DM me via Instagram.

TV SHOWS/BOOKS/ACTIVITIES

I’ve decided to group all of these things together to create a category of things that have kept me busy this August. My current TV binges, books I’m reading, and activities/hobbies I’ve been doing to pass time.

I used to watch Criminal Minds with my mom but I would just pick random episodes that seemed interesting. However, this past month I started watching chronologically. I started around season 6 because I knew pretty much what was happening and since then I’ve watched two seasons and am up to season 8! I used to think there wasn’t much of a plot within the characters but there is and I’ve become so obsessed with them. My favorites are Reid and Garcia!

I posted on my Instagram story that I recently started this book but I wanted to say that if you haven’t read this one yet I HIGHLY recommend ordering on Amazon ASAP. Usually I’m one for dystopian/romance books but this mystery novel is amazing. It’s been described as The Breakfast Club meets Pretty Little Liars, so if you’ve watched either of those and love them, you will definitely love this book.

I talked a little about some of the things I’ve been doing in my personal life to keep busy and this is one of the main things, cliff jumping! My friends and I have the perfect spot to go swimming, jumping, and just hang out for the day. Since COVID has shut a lot of inside actives and restaurants down, my friends and I have done so much exploring and hiking. I highly recommend doing the same while it’s still warm! I posted a little about this beautiful spot on my Instagram story so if you’re not already following themissmegs on Instagram, click the link!

SMALL BUSINESSES

For this month’s recap, I wanted to talk a little about the small businesses I’ve been able to connect with and support!

The first business I collaborated with was South City Dye! In the picture, I’m wearing the cutest butterfly tie dye tank with a matching mask! With the pandemic still going on, it is so important to wear your mask to protect those around you so you might as well rock a cute one like this!

The other business I worked with was Shop Hailey Kaae! This brand is run by one of the sweetest people ever and has 2-4 day shipping which is awesome. This online boutique has such cute clothes and trendy jewelry and accessories to add to your outfit. I got this lightning bolt necklace that I’m completely obsessed with. Make sure to check out her website with the link and use my code “ambassador10” for $ off your order!

MY FAVORITE AUGUST FITS

These are my top 2 outfits of the month! I was IN LOVE with both of these fits and cannot wait to wear them over and over again. They are both super chic and appeal to my personal style. Let me know what your favorite look from this month was in the comments below.

LOOKING INTO SEPTEMBER

This next month I have a few goals I want to attain. I will need to adjust my school and blogging schedule so I can keep posting twice a week while maintaining good grades for my junior year. I’m also hoping to reach 1,000 followers this month. As I said, I don’t need a big following or a certain number of likes, comments, etc, but making goals for yourself is never a bad thing! I wish everyone an amazing month of productivity and growth in whatever you are pursuing.

xoxo, megs
