Layering is one of my favorite ways to add a little something to my outfits and it’s the perfect way to style looks for cooler temperatures! For today’s post I’m creating three different outfits layering different articles of clothing.
1. Grandma Style
The first outfit is a classic for layering and I’ve used this technique many times. Take a basic white tee and layer any type of tank. I really like the way silk tops look with skirts (especially plaid) so I decided to go with that. The best part of about layering is that you don’t need a certain article of clothing, you can use whatever is already in your closet! This layering style is also very helpful because it adds spice to a basic solid colored tee!
2. Spooky Scary Skeleton
The next look is one of my favs, especially for a cute Halloween look! You all have seen me style this skeleton Posty concert tee SO MANY TIMES, but it is absolutely perfect for the fall because of the colors. I went for a monochrome look (black ripped jeans & a black turtleneck) and layered the graphic tee overtop. I absolutely loved how it turned out because of that fall/Halloween vibe with a little edge!
3. Trendy Mom
I felt like an absolute mom in this last outfit, but in the best way possible! Bootcut jeans are honestly growing on me though. I’ve been obsessed with blazers recently and when I realized it matched my yellow turtleneck sweater I realized it was a great way to layer when it gets chilly. In some places it’s already dropping to lower temps (in MD it was 45 degrees this morning!!) so it’s really time to pack away all the summer clothes and transition into the coats and pants.
Fall is one of my favorite seasons so I cannot wait to style more outfits for it! Layering is an amazing way to add dimension and spice to any look especially when it’s cold outside so I hope you got some inspiration with this post!
xoxo, megs
