3 Edgy Looks for 2021

Experiencing with new clothes and styles is my favorite part of fashion. In 2020, I branched out a bit and styled a few edgier looks. I love how creative you can be from animal print to black monochrome, and accessorizing with chains to edgy sunglasses.

1. T-Shirt Dress Upgraded

I based this first look off of this neon green t-shirt dress that I had no idea had to style. Honestly I thought I left t-shirt dresses back in 2016 when I wore them in middle school. Though when I tried styling it a little differently I was obsessed. Now, these knee high boots are something I was never brave enough to try, but this year I wanted to give them a go. They’re a bit difficult to style to be completely honest. I never really liked the way they paired with denim, but skirts/dresses go very well with these babies. However, a denim jacket ended up looking so good with this look. I liked the oversized, distressed kind of jacket which obviously enchanted that “edgy” style I was going for. I finished the outfit with a black cross body bag and some tiny sunglasses.

2. Black Monochrome

A classic black monochrome look never fails me, and I’ve been wanting to try the trendy leather pants for so long now. I picked this mesh bodysuit to go with the leather pants to make sure the pants were being spotlighted. I also thought a tight top rather than a chunky sweater went much better for this kind of edgy look. To top it all off, of course I had to wear my favorite black heeled booties. Overall, I think this is definitely a look for those who are attempting to expand their style and try edgier fashion trends. It’s all black monochrome which isn’t too out of the box, but definitely edgy.

3. CASUALLY EDGY

To finish today’s blog post, I wanted to add a more casual look. This isn’t a matching sweat set, although those are very much fashionable at the moment. I actually paired these ombre colored sweatpants and a cropped long sleeve top that matched. I love how simple the clothes are yet they give off such a chic, edgy vibe. For shoes, my docs seemed appropriate and my brown rectangle sunglasses completed the look.

My word for 2021 is potential, so I’m letting myself go crazy and explore different aspects of fashion I have yet to try. I encourage you all to do the same, it can be very refreshing! I hope you found some new inspiration for edgy outfits this year and let me know what kind of blog posts you’d like to see in the future.

xoxo, megs
