Styling Miscellaneous Clothing Items

Do you ever have those impulsive purchases that looked really good in the dressing room but in reality, you have nowhere to wear them? Maybe you’ve had that random clothing item in your closet for months and have yet to figure out how to style it? I was doing a little closet clean-out and realized I had a few items I had yet to style. More so because I had nowhere to wear them, but it’s always fun to play dress up. So, if you’d like to see those looks, make sure to keep reading and maybe you’ll find some inspiration for those miscellaneous items laying around your wardrobe.

1. LEATHER SKIRT

Although some may say a leather skirt is not really breaking any fashion boundaries, I definitely left my comfort zone with this one. I had been handed down this adorable leather skirt, but had no idea how to style it! I had just recently tried out leather pants and loved them, so I figured I would style them similarly. I wanted to keep the colors very minimal, so I layered a black mock-neck underneath this adorable sweater.

Of course, I still needed shoes and accessories to complete the look. At first, I grabbed the short black heeled booties that I wear in probably every blog post. However, my attention went to these knee-high booties instead, and I realized they were perfect. Knee-high boots are the ideal shoe choice for skirts in colder weather because it balances the outfit, and they keep those legs warm! As far as accessories go, I went with some gold chains, hoops, and some black sunglasses to keep the look simple yet chic.

2. TASSEL JUMPSUIT

This next look was SO fun to photograph, I mean come on look at that jumpsuit! I’ve been staring at this baby for entirely too long, so I brought it out and when I paired this maroon turtleneck underneath, I loved how it looked! I love how even with the heeled booties, the look still gives off this fun, carefree vibe instead of something too dressy. I didn’t go overboard with accessorizing (at all), I really just kept some simple gold hoops in, just to keep the attention on the jumpsuit.

3. FUN CHECKERED TOP

For the last look of today’s blog post, I styled this adorable checkered top. This was something I was intimidated to style because of all the volume/extra flare at the bottom. I didn’t want something too crazy, so I paired some black ripped jeans and my black booties. Depending on your taste, this could be too much or too little. For me, I’d say it’s right in between. I obviously love to make my outfits eye-catching, so jeans and a top would normally need a little more. However, this top is so unique that all it needed was a cute shoulder bag and some jewelry and boom, completed look.

Hi hi! If you’ve made it to here, thank you for reading today’s blog post. I loved taking these random pieces and creating such fun looks, even if I can’t wear them out anywhere. Happy Friday, wishing you all a wonderful weekend, and as always make sure to reach out if you have any blog posts you’d like to see in the future.

xoxo, megs
