Going out during the summer and getting all dressed up is one of the best parts of having no school. You have time for a random Thursday brunch or a Friday night dinner. I love planning looks for dinners or nights strolling around town, and I definitely have the wardrobe for it. Unfortunately, with school starting back up for students, going out is going to become more of a special occasion. So, you might as well go all out and make sure you’re the best-dressed person at the event. So without further ado, here are three dressier looks I styled.
- WILD ZEBRA CHASE
Dresses are something we all gravitate towards when choosing a going-out look. However, I tried to spice it up a bit with a jumpsuit. This particular jumpsuit not only had a fun pattern but a neckline that was super on-trend. I added black heeled boots to give me some height and a pair of brown square sunglasses to appeal to the colors in the outfit. I love outfits that accentuate my legs, and the jumpsuit/heeled booties combo definitely did that.
It’s always great when you find a statement piece that pretty much does all of the work for you. What I mean by that is, styling an outfit with fun accessories and layers is fun, but sometimes it’s nice to have a piece that doesn’t require anything extra. This jumpsuit is chic and dressy enough on its own, that all it took was the right pair of shoes and sunglasses to complete the look.
2. BEAUTY IN BEIGE
The next look is my beauty in beige. I love color coordination, and it shows in this look. I started with a pair of chic/business-like shorts and went from there. I knew I needed a bodysuit with these shorts because I wanted the shorts to be shown off in the right way. These shorts wouldn’t work with a baggy shirt because the belt and fit wouldn’t be shown off as well. Therefore, the snakeskin bodysuit was perfect because it tucked into the shorts, and on top of that it matched with the color scheme.
Again, these chic looks don’t necessarily need a lot of glitz to be glam. They are completed with the right pair of shoes and accessories and that’s normally at it takes.
3. FLOWER (COW)GIRL
For the last look, I wanted to add a bit of color and some denim to relax the outfit a bit. For the top, I’m wearing this floral embroidered shirt with a mock neck. As for bottoms, this unusual denim skirt. I like that both pieces seem plain to the eye but they’re actually more interesting up close. The top has embroidery and the skirt almost looks like a pair of shorts that have different lengths.
Again, I chose pieces that make my legs look longer, which is why I finished the look with white heeled boots that also matched with the white top (again, color coordination is key).
Dressy/chic dinner looks are one of my favorites to style, I love how simple they can seem from afar, but they end up making you feel so confident. Sometimes those closet essentials you think you overwear, end up making you feel the best. There is nothing wrong with simplicity.
