Happy Valentine’s Day! Today on the blog I have a very exciting addition to the Style Me Series…a couples version! My friends Mara and Maverick have volunteered to be MissMegs’ first couple to be styled. The theme was Valentine’s Day date night looks in honor of the holiday, and I had so much fun choosing looks for the both of them. This is also the first guy I’ve styled (thank you Mav) and I’d love to do it again!
- COLOR CODED

Obviously my goal with these looks was to have the two of them match in a subtle, satisfying way. I started with this blue floral button up of Maverick’s, I knew I had to use it for a look. I paired it with brown pants and dress shoes. For Mara, I picked the blue bodysuit and brown skirt to go with the blue and brown in Mav’s outfit. I liked that the blues and browns in her look were different than what was in his, so the matching was subtle but they still looked cohesive.
2. A FLORAL WINTER

This next look is very floral and spring like, but classy nonetheless. For Mav, I really wanted him to wear this sweater but he wasn’t a huge fan, so I had him wear a quarter zip over top. He’s wearing the same pants as the last look, but going for a more casual shoe choice. These brown converse were absolutely awesome, and I definitely wanted to include them. Mara is wearing a very spring-y dress, but all she had to do was layer a white long-sleeve underneath to make it more appropriate for the weather. Her look is finished with white booties, and overall I love these two looks (separate and together).
3. DRESSED TO THE NINES

I absolutely adore the colors and patterns in this look. Although Mara is in pants rather than a skirt/dress, she still looks so elegant and classy, perfect for a nice dinner date. Maverick is wearing these fun striped dress pants and a white button down to pair with it. Mara has tan pants and an adorable baby pink polka dot top. Again, the similar colors have the two of them looking cohesive but not “matchy-matchy” if you get what I’m saying.
4. SINGLE MOMENT

I didn’t want to forget my single friends, so I included a solo look for both Mara and Maverick. For Mara’s we loved this black top that has little hearts on it. We paired it with some denim, added some black sandals, and finished with a pink, Blair Waldorf-esque headband. I love the simplicity of this outfit, it is so clean yet so adorable. Perfect for all of the Galentine’s Day festivities.

The last look of today’s blog post is Mav’s solo outfit. He wanted to style this sweater vest, so I layered it over a white button down and paired it with the brown pants. To keep it casual, I had him wear these super cool gray New Balance sneakers.
I had a blast styling Mara and Maverick for the blog, they’re clothes really complimented one another. I can’t wait to keep this series going, especially when it warms up. As always, if you’d like to be styled next, send me a message!
Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone reading, because I love you!
xoxo, megs
