Over this break, I’ve begun to realize I have been lacking in the fashion department, sticking to sweats and leggings most days since I haven’t really left the house. However, a few days ago I started putting together outfits to keep me from getting bored and I realized once I put on a decent outfit I was way more motivated to get stuff done!
I always had this theory at school that if I was wearing an outfit I liked, I would be more motivated and productive during the day. My theory was pretty much correct because I felt more confident in my school environment when I decided to throw on some jeans instead of sweatpants. What really boosts a girls confidence though, is when someone you aren’t really friends with compliments your outfit. This would make me so happy because I loved putting outfits together the night before and for some reason it made me keep a good mindset during the day. I was happier, I worked hard, and I got things done.
I decided to try my theory during this quarantine and put on a decent outfit every day, whether it be jeans or sweatpants, I wanted to spice it up. I made sure not to stay in my pajamas for too long or I would never leave my bed, so even if I changed into sweats, at least I paired it with a cute top or some fun accessories.
My theory was proven to work very nicely even at home. Even if I decided to get out of bed at noon instead of 9am, I still was able to accomplish things at home when I got dressed in an outfit I liked.
So the question remains, why should I get up and get dressed every day when I could lay in my bed forever and watch endless Vampire Diaries? Well you could, but you also could use this isolation to check some things off the to-do list that you haven’t been able to do because of school, work, sports, and other hobbies.
OUTFIT #1 – My first outfit was my favorite because it reminded me the most of spring, which is my favorite season for fashion. I love when it gets warmer and I can wear short sleeve shirts and not be chilly. Anyways, this outfit consisted of my favorite ripped mom jeans from H&M, a black tank underneath my black wrap top from Shein. I am OBSESSED with this top because it is adorable for warmer weather and can go with so many outfits. I could totally see myself wearing it underneath swimsuits in the summer and with many other upcoming spring outfits.
OUTFIT #2 – It was a little chillier today so I decided to put on this baby blue turtleneck sweater to live out my last days of sweater weather. I paired it with these ripped jeans with flower embroidery on the side. They are low rise which are not usually my favorite but with a belt these jeans are super cute.
OUTFIT #3 – I decided to keep it more casual today and wear some sweats. However, I didn’t want to feel lazy so I paired it with some layers on top. I wore a striped long sleeve from Brandy Melville and layered on a thrifted t-shirt. My favorite part about the outfit are the earrings though. I have to admit I’ve been very interested in statement earrings recently and loved these Shein star earrings with this outfit.
OUTFIT #4 – Today I wanted to throw on a skirt since I hadn’t worn one in what seems like forever. I paired it with this red turtleneck I picked up from the thrift store. I felt like spicing it up a bit so I added these adorable red dangling earrings.
OUTFIT #5 – I am seriously in love with these cheetah joggers from TJ Maxx. They are perfect for any outfit and are SO comfy. The perfect quarantine outfit because I don’t feel like a bum wearing my pajamas all day but still comfy to sit around and watch a movie. I paired them today with a loose blue top also from TJ Maxx and added some tassel earrings from Shein for some more pizzazz.
