There are always certain colors that make your eyes pop or a friend will call “your color”, but what about the best clothing colors for your hair color? Today I brought my two best friends (Landis and Allie) onto the blog to model three outfits each for their hair color. This blog post idea was inspired by Vi Luong, AKA @viluong on TikTok! She started a series about clothing colors for each hair color and it totally helped me get inspiration for this post.
1.BLONDE
Firstly, I’m starting with blonde bombshell Landis. This girl is a literal model so of course I had to ask her to model the outfits I styled for blondies. Pistachio green, baby blue, and brown are the three colors I used and found excellent for light blondes like Landis.
PISTACHIO GREEN

LANDIS’ PICS
I loved how the soft colors enhanced Landis’ blonde hair! This adorable pistachio green dress was the perfect fit for Landis and the addition of green statement earrings adds on so much but not too much. Overall, I loved this look on Landis, I think she rocked the flower/soft girl vibe in green. If you’re a blondie like her, I’d totally recommend investing in some green clothing items if you haven’t already.
BABY BLUE

This baby blue might be my favorite look on blondies. It’ so so pretty and soft and definitely highlights Landis’ blonde hair. The grandma sweater added some volume to the blue skirt/white shirt combo which I really liked. For accessories, I added a darker blue purse as well as some minimal hoops.
BROWN

For the last blondie look, I chose a brown. You probably thought at first, brown really? Usually when people reach in their closet they don’t immediately go for a brown look. However, if you have light colored hair, the dark brown colors really go well with it. Just like beige goes well with darker hair (you will see that soon), I truly love how the two browns we used ended up being super cohesive and the brown Vans pull the whole look together!
2. Dirty Blonde/Light Brown
The three outfits I modeled were tailored for light brunettes or for girls like me who got a few highlights recently haha. My hair has always been on the lighter brown side so I figured I would call these colors suitable for dirty blondes/light brunettes out there.
SOFT GREEN

MY PICS
Alright, I know the pictures makes the dress look closer to white than green but mint/soft greens look beautiful with light brunettes. This color is also pretty similar to the green that I styled for light blondes but it works well with both! Green may not be the most popular color to wear but how can you go wrong with a pretty soft green like this? This flowy floral maxi dress from Wild Fable was a perfect fit for my hair color and is super comfy as well. As for accessories, I paired small green hoops that are eye catching but they don’t take away from the dress either. For shoes, I found these vintage green heels in my mom’s closet that were just too good not to include.
LAVENDER PURPLE

MY PICS
I’ve always been a huge fan of lavender/lilac purple, especially in the summer when I get that sweet sun! I wasn’t sure if I was going to do a monochrome look but I’m so so happy I did. I tucked a Francesca’s silk top into a pair of lavender denim shorts and LOVED how it looked. Espadrille sandals are the perfect summer shoe and they went really well with this warm weather look.
HOT PINK

I was debating between hot pink and steel blue (which is another good color for light brunettes!) for my last color because they’re both very bold and statement worthy! However, I decided to go with hot pink for this basic but bold look. I also happened to have a pretty pink tree to pose with which helped lol, but I do really love how hot pink looks with my hair color. Of course this was the right time to add some statement earrings to a basic sweater/jeans combo, so I went with some hot pink tassel earrings. To compliment the gold in the earrings, I decided to not go with espadrille sandals and instead wear my gold heels.
3. DARK BROWN
For the last set of outfits, my best friend Allie modeled even though we do have a similar hair color. I wanted these last looks to be generally for all dark hair colors, however I will mention a few more colors I find more suitable for dark black and red hair at the end of the blog post as well so I don’t miss anyone (even if I don’t have anyone to model the outfits).
YELLOW

ALLIE’S PICS
In the various shades of yellow, I think that the pretty bright yellow suited Allie’s hair color really well. Mustard yellow suits dark hair really well but as you can see in the inspo board, darker hair looks beautiful in all different shades of yellow. I just purchased these white wide pant Express jeans and the yellow wrap top went super cute with it.
BEIGE
ALLIE’S PICS
The dark brown hair is able to really pop in a light beige outfit. These Old Navy flowy pants were so beachy with a tight crop top from Urban Outfitters. I especially like the shoe choice in this outfit because the dark brown pop jut like the hair.
BABY PINK

ALLIE’S PICS
Allie’s last outfit was a pretty in pink skirt look. I styled this look based around the tassel skirt that I’ve worn a few times that is an ideal summer weather skirt. We decided to make this a monochrome look by adding a baby pink top tucked into the skirt. For accessories, we kept it minimal but still flashy by adding on baby pink tassel earrings to match the tassel skirt.
Last but not least, I wanted to add an inspo board for gingers/redheads and dark hair girls who need inspiration as well. I didn’t have anyone to model these colors but Pinterest is perfect for giving everyone (including myself) good clothing color ideas tailored for your hair color.
4. DARK HAIR
Ruby Red, Mustard/Lemon Yellow, Lilac Purple
5. REDHEADS/GINGERS
Emerald Green, Black, Navy/Dark Blue
If you made it this far, thank you. I’m not sure how many people read the entire blog post or even read the blog at all, but if you do, thank you so much for reading. I hope you found yourself positively surprised with the different colors that make your hair color pop! This week I challenge you to step out of your color comfort zone and try styling outfits with a new color.
xoxo, megs
