3 Modest Outfit Ideas

If your style is more conservative/classy and need outfits that cover the shoulders and are family friendly, you’ve come to the right place! This is also the perfect time to put together outfits that fit your back to school dress code if you’re going back to school. In today’s blog post, I’ve put together three outfits that are ideal for a modest event.

1. SIMPLE WITH SPICE

The first look was based around the length of this skirt and how it fits the fingertip dress code. As you can see in the first photo, even with my arms straight down there is still a lot of fabric covering the thigh area which a lot of schools are strict about. This outfit also included a black turtle neck to match and covers my shoulders yet still makes me look very chic! If you have a conservative like dress attire, this look is an excellent choice because it checks off all the boxes for the general dress code.

Shoe choice for this outfit is quite customizable to your style preferences which I love. I decided to go dressy for this look to go along for the church/important event sort of thing. If you wanted to keep the look more casual, chunky sneakers are super cute even with a feminine skirt or dress.

2. LOTS OF LAYERS

Layering is a great way to keep outfits modest and one of my most favorite ways to style outfits. I layered a basic white tee with this adorable cheetah swimsuit that I turned into a bodysuit haha. If you’re trying not to get the “did you get your jeans for half off with all those rips” comment at your family gatherings, then do not fear, wide leg pants are just as cute as a your favorite pair of ripped jeans.

This bucket hat went perfectly with the pastel pink that was in the cheetah bodysuit. To add to all the pops of pink, I went with my light pink Vans for shoes. I was completely obsessed with all the pink accents and how they made such a modest outfit so trendy.

3. BACK IN BLACK

In an all black monochrome look, I styled this piece to fit the “conservative dress” picture I had in mind. I didn’t want this turtleneck dress to be boring though, so to accessorize, I added a belt to bring the dress in a bit so it wasn’t floppy and this added so much more to the look.

One of my favorite pairs of shoes, these DSW black booties were just the perfect fit to finish this outfit. They are close toed (if you aren’t allowed to wear sandals/open toed shoes to an event) and they make you feel so badass lol. I was in love with how this monochrome outfit turned out and how modest it looked.

I hope these three outfits show you that modest can still mean fashionable! Going out to a conservative event, restaurant, or even schools with harsh dress codes can be tricky, but with a few modest clothing items that can still be styled classy and chic, you’ll be good to go!

xoxo, megs
