Summer To Fall Transition Outfits

September is that weird transition month where you don’t know if you should stay in your summer clothes or bring out all the cozy fall attire. For me it goes either way…depending on the day. Some days when I’m scrolling through Tik Tok and seeing videos about the holidays I get super motivated to get out all my sweaters and scarfs. Then I think about summer and how I just want to hold on a little bit longer. Depending on where you live the weather will different, but here in Maryland we have VERY bipolar weather. Therefore, these transition months can be difficult because you don’t want to be too hot or cold. If you’re struggling, make sure to keep reading to see the three outfits I styled for the summer to fall transition.

1. LOTS OF LAYERS

Alright, bare with me here..at first glance I wasn’t sure about this outfit either. However, the more I stuck with it I absolutely loved it. I’ve always been a huge supporter or layering and this is the perfect way to style a transition outfit. When you layer, you can add on jackets for when you get chilly or take off layers when you get too hot. For this look, I layered a basic white tee with a green deep U neck top, and to top it off a denim jacket.

For the rest of the look, I paired black jeans and my favorite chunky sneakers. I find that black denim is super trendy in fall so I wanted to see how it would look with this outfit. Like I said, I wasn’t a fan at first glance, but I really ended up liking how each article of clothing I layered on complimented one another.

2. BARE LEGS & BOOTIES

If you’re looking for a trendy fall outfit that you won’t break a sweat in, this is for you. Although it might not be everyone’s personal style (edgy/city chic), it is SO cute. Blazers are by far my favorite article of clothing at the moment and they make me feel so confident lol. With a little black romper underneath, you can always take the blazer off if you’re feeling too warm. I also love how these black booties look with bare legs. With this look, you feel like you’re pulling off fall fashion but you still have some room to breathe.

3. FALL ON TOP, SUMMER ON BOTTOM

The last look for today’s post is a classic, fall turtleneck and a plaid skirt. I say “fall on top, summer on bottom” because a chunky sweater is typical fall attire and skirts are always good in the summer. You can always interchange the type of skirt to fit your style, but I went with plaid because it’s a classic for fall. You can’t go wrong with this outfit, it’s not too crazy but not too basic!

As much as I love summer, I can’t wait for when the temperatures drop and all the fall traditions start! I hope today’s post gave you a few ideas to start changing your wardrobe from summer to fall easily. Let me know what fall blog posts you want to see this month, I always love hearing your suggestions.

xoxo, megs
