Outerwear like jackets and coats are obviously a clothing essential when the temperatures drop and where I live, it’s starting to drop to around 50 degrees outside! It’s time to prepare and start styling outfits WITH your big coats. I always see such cute outfits hidden other chunky coats when instead you should be incorporating them into your overall look. In today’s blog post, I will be showing you three jackets you need in your wardrobe this fall/winter and how to style them.

1. TEDDY COAT

Starting this post off strong with one of the most trendy jackets ever, the classic teddy coat. Fashion icon Emma Chamberlain convinced us all we needed one of these back in 2018 and they’ve been in style ever since. Brown clothing is SUPER in trend as well this fall so I decided to add brown pants (in a different shade) to make a somewhat monochrome look. I accessorized with pearls and my new brown glasses from Amazon.

2. CLASSIC BLACK PUFFER

If it gets pretty cold where you live, you probably have a heavy winter coat of some sort. Recently, I picked this one up from Walmart and it’s pretty good quality for the price. Puffer coats are in trend at the moment and although this one isn’t exactly like it, not everyone has 100 dollars to drop on the classic puffer coat from Urban Outfitters or Free People. I strongly recommend investing in a decently priced one though, because they come in handy when styling outfits for cold weather.

3. ZIP UP JACKET

Lastly, I wanted to include my absolute go to outfit this fall which is sweatpants and a zip up. I picked this black zip up up from Walmart as well and ever since I’ve been obsessed. I pair it with sweats, jeans, literally anything depending on if I’m heading out or just chilling out at home. This is one of those outfits you can accessorize however you’d like to make the outfit unique which is always so fun.
