As Christmas is around the corner, I wanted to put together some laid back holiday content since most people will be spending Christmas with their family safe in their homes. Red is common color associated with Christmas so I figured I could style a few looks using the color red!
1. MIXING PATTERNS
Mixing patterns used to be something I thought was the complete opposite of “fashionable”. I only really saw it on runways from expensive fashion brands, but I realized it’s all about what YOU feel fashionable in. I think mixing patterns is such a fun way to experiment with fashion and that’s what I did here, nothing too overboard but still a different look. I paired basic white wide pant jeans with a striped red and white tank with a polka dot top layered over top. Overall, I think this outfit ended up mixing the two patterns pretty well, it’s not too overwhelming.
2. COMPLEMENTARY COLORS
I’ve been obsessed with these plaid pants for awhile, so I just had to create a look with them. Green goes very well with red, especially this sage green tank I paired with the plaid pants. Due to the chilly weather, I had to layer a black mock neck underneath but it ended up working out because they matched with my go to black booties! I love how all the colors in this look complimented each other.
3. POP OF RED
The last look includes a very formal red dress that I dressed down with a printed sweater over top and docs for shoes. You can always go the traditional route and wear a red dress and heels, but for this holiday season I realize it’s going to be pretty casual for most people, (I may still be strutting around my house in a holiday dress lol, but that’s just me). However, if you do want to make this look more formal, you can switch the docs for your favorite pair of heels.
The holiday season is looking quite different this year, but you can still dress up to spend quality time with your family. If you needed some last minute fashion inspiration for your holiday looks, I hope this post helped! Wishing you and your family a fabulous holiday season.
xoxo, megs
