Happy February 1st everyone! (and happy birthday Harry Styles) January was a month of reflection and change to not only my blog but myself as a person. I’d like to talk a little more about this change in a whole different blog post, so I’m planning a little Q&A/get to know me & my blog type of thing. However, just to explain a little bit, this month was the first of a new year, and I felt like I owed it to myself to really think about this blog and why I started it in the first place almost a year ago (WOW that’s insane). I started this blog to really test the waters when it came to my writing, and fashion was a way for me to express that. In the last few months, I’ve realized that I don’t just want to write about fashion, so I’ve slowly been expanding. I’m starting to become more active on my Instagram stories and write more “advice” posts this year. Honestly, those advice posts are the ones I’m most proud to hit publish on, and although most of you probably read my blog for fashion tips, I’d really love for you to stick around for this. You won’t regret it 😉
ON THE BLOG THIS MONTH
This month on the blog I started off strong with a few fashion-centered blog posts including, How To Style Flare Pants and Leather Jackets. I also posted two “advice posts” focusing on overthinking and motivation. I think this “change” I keep talking about hit me halfway through the month. I kept getting this feeling that I was on a deadline to post, and I didn’t enjoy the blog post process anymore. So, I realized I had to reflect and figure out what I was going to do about this. I realized that I needed to be proud of every single blog post published and every outfit created. The solution I came up with was deciding to really become my own blogger and person, instead of trying to be someone else. I’m also trying to focus less on fashion and more on just things that interest me in general. Of course, fashion is one of those things, so don’t fret! I will still be posting fashion related posts. I think my goal is to just write what I want and hopefully, you all will enjoy it as much as I do. This means more advice posts, and maybe even diving into music/film/books as well.
TV/MOVIES/BOOKS/MUSIC

This is the book I’ve been trying to start off my days with. I used to start my days by scrolling through social media to catch up on what I missed last night (which in reality, how much could I have missed?) SO! When I got this book for Christmas I figured it was a sign to really start getting invested in books that were going to motivate me, and this one really does.
Some of my favorite movies I’ve watched (or rewatched…) this month are Knives Out directed by Rain Johnson, Booksmart directed by Olivia Wilde, and Marriage Story directed by Noah Baumbach.
MUSIC: my January playlist: LINK
For those of you who don’t know, I am also a huge lover of music, I’m constantly listening to knew songs, artists, and genres, so I started making monthly playlists over quarantine and just decided to keep going with it. If you’re interested, click the link above!
LOOKING INTO FEBRUARY
I’m very excited about this new month for many reasons. One, I have a somewhat (and I mean very somewhat) busy month. My plans outside of school, work, and blogging have been pretty limited, but towards the end of this month, I’m finally going to visit my big sister in Nashville! She’s lived there for over a year and I have yet to visit, so I’m super stoked for that. I’m also really looking forward to expanding my blog and hopefully growing some engagement. Since I’m also starting to talk more about music and film, I hope to start connecting with different people! Overall, I have a lot of hope for February.
xoxo, megs
