FEBRUARY FAVS + RECAP

Someone informed me that today was March 1st and I audibly gasped. I’m not even trying to be dramatic but seriously where did the time go. February absolutely flew and yes, I’m well aware that it is the shortest month of the year, but wow. This month was a good one for me though, in more ways than one. On the blog,  I started really feeling happy with my content, whether that be here on the blog, on my Instagram, or TikTok. From styling outfits to writing about new topics, and just overall feeling that sense of pride I was missing. In my personal life, I’m feeling so much more motivated. At work, we finally opened back up for dine-in which I’m ecstatic for because I love serving tables, It’s such a fun job. I did a little decorating in my room, which means there is a possibility for a room tour in the near future. In school, well…I’m getting there. Although the workload is much less than what it would be like if I were in-person, online school lacks that motivation I had when I was learning in-person. I think once it starts to warm up and I get my license (finally), I’ll feel a lot more productive.

THIS MONTH ON MISSMEGS

So, this month’s blog recap is looking a little different. Normally I would show you a little collage of pictures from outfits I styled in various blog posts, but this month I focused more on writing rather than styling. Of course, I would never stray away from fashion, so I decided to post weekly recaps on Sunday with my daily outfits from that week with mirror pictures. I also styled a few looks for Instagram and TikTok posts that are pictured as well. My favorite post from this month was by far: How Lyrics Make Us Feel. I was beyond excited to hit publish on this post as I had been wanting to write about music for the longest time. When I was listening to the song Vienna by Billy Joel, I came up with the idea to write about how lyrics in songs made us feel. So many of you loved it, so I’m planning on writing more posts like it. ALSO, I hit 1,000 followers on Instagram! YAY! Hitting milestones (numbers involved or not) is so fulfilling. Although I try not to rely on external validation, it felt pretty damn good to know you all still love MissMegs as much as I do. With that being said, let’s talk about a few of my favorites from this month!

TV//MOVIES

I’m currently binging Gilmore Girls! Don’t ask why it’s taken me this long to get to this show, I have a tendency to start a show…and another one….and a few more, all at the same time. I’ll watch a few episodes and then it’ll get lost in my Netflix continue watching bar. I’m also simultaneously watching American Horror Story and Criminal Minds, so we’ll see if I actually finish all seven seasons of this series.

The three movies I watched for the first time (besides La La Land which I rewatched) this month are Manchester By The Sea directed by Kenneth Lonergan, Parasite directed by Bong Joon-ho, and La La Land directed by Damien Chazelle. Yes yes, I know these are all spectacular movies from previous years, but I’m trying to catch up on all the movies I didn’t have the patience or taste to watch years ago. Ever since my friend Caroline made me download Letterboxd, I’ve been checking off movies left and right. I’m obsessed with it! It’s such an easy way to keep track of all the movies on my watchlist, rate and review movies, and the best part is being able to see what your friends are watching and enjoying. Well…Letterboxd…you’re welcome for the free promo and all the screen time I spend on that app! Follow me @megreese if you want to see what movies I’m loving!!

BOOKS/MUSIC

I mentioned SO long ago that I started We Were Liars and for awhile I just couldn’t get into it if I’m being honest. However, the last 50 pages were pretty good, I finished them on my plane ride back from Nashville. I think I got my hopes up too high because I wasn’t that shocked with the ending. The writing however was fantastic and I did love the plot, I just think TikTok may have overhyped it.

MUSIC! Go listen to my February playlist if you haven’t yet! Also, my March playlist is currently in the works and constantly being added to if you’d like to check that out as well.

LOOKING INTO MARCH

March oh March. Speaking of March, probably going to watch Little Women for the thousandth time…probably not a good coping mechanism but oh well! Anyways! I’m actually very excited for March, although it is a little scary to think we are approaching the one year mark of when I left school for “two weeks” (March 13th). I’m hoping it’s going to get warmer outside and my motivation will come back with the sun.

A few goals I have for this month:

  1. Start posting more on TikTok and hopefully get a few more people watching me on that platform!
  2. Write a few spontaneous blog posts just for fun (not scheduled ones).
  3. Get a YouTube video out there! Whether that’s a room tour, fashion video, or maybe even a day in the life.
  4. Make a new blogger friend! The friendships I have made through blogging have been amazing, so if you’re reading this… don’t hesitate to reach out 🙂

I try not to hyper fixate on number related goals/followers, and instead just appreciate the ones I already have. The ones who read the blog, like an Instagram post, and go out of their ways to support MissMegs. I love you! Happy March 1st! Wishing you all an amazing month.

xoxo, megs

Hi, I’m Stephanie! It’s nice meeting you. I hope you enjoyed Gilmore Girls; I rewatched the series last year and it was so nostalgic! There were some scenes that made me cry and others that I thought were so clever and I appreciated them even more now that I’m a little older. I’m still a Team Jess fan and I have mixed feelings about the revival.

Also, I love, love AHS! I finished watching the 1984 season a few months ago and liked it. I rewatched Cult recently and I’m patiently waiting on the new season to air, whenever that will be.

I haven’t watched any of the other movies you’ve listed but I hope you enjoyed them as well! I live in Nashville, so it’s nice to meet a local blogger. Have a lovely day ♥
