Spring Transition Outfits

With the sun peeking out and the temperatures rising…I had to bring you guys a fashion post. Long time no see! Wow, it’s honestly been a while since I’ve picked out and styled a bunch of looks, taken pictures, and put together a fashion blog post. I missed it! I did today’s post a little differently, I included both nice pictures of the outfits outside, but also a few mirror pics, let me know which pictures you prefer! This time of transition can be weird, especially if you’re on the East Coast like me, where the weather can be cold one day and warm the next. So, I figured putting together a few looks for this time of transition would be very fitting for my first fashion blog post in quite some a while.

  1. COMPLEMETARY COLORS

The way that this outfit flows so well is going to help me sleep better at night. Genuinely I think the only reason this outfit stands out to me is because of the matching colors. The red tube top and belt standing out, yet sharing some of that spotlight with the brown/nude jacket and shoes. Honestly, this outfit is quite simple (I won’t say basic because yes, you could say it is, but no outfit is too basic). However, I like the simplicity of this look. I think the classic jean shorts and tube top combo end up working due to the adding of the jacket. I think in this case, simple ends up being chic and clean, which always gets a yes from me.

Let me just say that I am a sucker for off-the-shoulder tops. Although for a second there I heard tube tops were too basic or too over-worn for the general public? I don’t think these bad boys could ever go out of style. *Cue Style by Taylor Swift* thank you! My point was, I love the way that a jacket looks with that bare shoulder. Especially when it’s that perfect spring temperature when a jacket is only really necessary for style points, but you aren’t dripping sweat trying to get those points in. Overall, I really do love this look and I think I’ll be wearing a few variations of it this spring.

2. SPRING FLING

How spring is this! So spring! If you’ve been around for some time, you’ve seen this midi skirt. Ugh, it’s my holy grail, my go-to. I definitely need to invest in another one…or maybe two so I don’t keep trying to re-style this one lol. The top definitely steals your attention, I love it. I think it absolutely screams spring with the pastel pink, the light material, and the overall style of the top.

I like the way both the skirt and the top are pieces the separately shine, however, they end up being just as bright when styled together. I thought pairing them would be too overwhelming, but it actually works. As far as shoes go, I wasn’t sure what to do. I could play it safe with a pair of black booties, but I didn’t really want to dress up this look any more than it was with a heeled shoe. So, I opted for my fake docs, a choice I’m a little unsure about, but I think I just need to expand my shoe options so…to DSW I go.

3. WARM DENIM

I really do love me some denim on denim. These target wide-pant jeans have been my go-to for so long, and while they are very simple, they allow room for the top half of the outfit to be spotlighted. I wanted to incorporate some layering without the look being too bulky for warmer weather, so I layered a collard Ralph Lauren tank that I thrifted over this fun mock neck top with fun shoulders. I absolutely love how these two tops could not be more different, yet together they fit seamlessly.

Even with removing the jean jacket (which I will rarely recommend because they elevate any look), this outfit still looks quite fashionable. Since I layered a bit with the tops, there is simplicity within the colors yet you can still see I put some effort in styling something different. I do really love the colors with this look, with the light blue denim matching the tiny blue in the Ralph Lauren logo, and the grey of the other top fits in like a puzzle piece. Nothing too extreme or overwhelming, but still very cute in my opinion!

4. SPRING ATHLESUIRE

The last outfit is one of my favorite combinations: a crewneck and a tennis skirt. Say what you want about tennis skirts already having their moment, but I’ll still be wearing them this spring okay? I’ve been obsessed with this Warner Bros crewneck ever since I found it in my Nana’s house. I’ll never underestimate the power of a cute crewneck and you shouldn’t either. If you find one like this that’s very unique and has a lot going on in the front, never be afraid to pair it with a basic pair of jeans or in my case, a white tennis skirt.

Overall, I could call this “athleisure” but it’ll definitely end up being more loungewear than workout wear for me. Hey, if it’s stylish, it’s stylish. I really do love this look and I could totally see an iconic celebrity like Kendall Jenner or Bella Hadid strutting the streets in something similar. Also, if you’ve noticed a pattern within these looks, it’s probably the sunglasses. I never think any outfit is complete without sunglasses…truly. They make every outfit more fashionable, and honestly, they make me feel so confident. So if you have a pair, grab em, because I can promise you with the sun coming out, you’ll want em for these looks!

Hi everyone! Yay for spring! Yay for Miss Megs finally posting a fashion blog post! I hope you all enjoyed this post and my slight transition into spring fashion. I’ll probably be back in coats and pants next week with Maryland’s crazy weather changes, but praying for more sun!!

xoxo, megs
