June is where summer begins, and I had a wonderful first month of summer. Without school taking up any time, I felt like I was finally able to relax and focus on the things I loved. I spent a week at the beach with my family, I read a ton, and I just got to breathe for a little bit. A week with your family gives you a lot of time for self-reflection. I spent time sitting on the beach alone or on the balcony to give myself time to think. Time to think about myself and where I see my life going in the next few months. This summer my plan is to work a ton on the blog, do college research, and try and look for an internship for my senior year! I’m learning to be more excited than nervous for the future, and it’s made me so much happier.
THIS MONTH IN MISS MEGS’ LIFE!
Like I mentioned, I spent a week at the beach with my family. Totally regretting not taking more pictures in my beach cover-up looks because they were so cute. My mom did take this picture of me in this beautiful sage green bikini, an off-white cover-up, and a baby pink bucket hat.
Also this month, I started my STYLE ME SERIES!! If you haven’t read the blog post, this is going to be a series where I style some of my friends or anyone local who wants Miss Megs to come into their closet and pick out some looks for them! The first person I had the pleasure of styling was Andrea and she absolutely killed it. The picture in the middle is my favorite outfit that I styled for her. I am so excited to keep this series going on the blog and if you’d like to be styled next, don’t hesitate to reach out so we can schedule something.
The last picture represents June for me, just laying out and relaxing with my friends. I loved this month because I got the breathe and take a step back from all of the things that were stressing me out. I got to take a chair out to the backyard, tan, read a book, and spend time with the people I love.
MOVIES/TV
I took a step back from the television this month, but I was still able to get in a good movie and start a new TV show that’s getting a lot of praise at the moment. I started the TV show Cruel Summer, and I love the plot. I’m only about 6 or 7 episodes in but it’s slowly starting to get more interesting. I don’t know if I would put it in my top 10 for best TV shows just yet, but I’m not losing hope.
I was told to watch the movie The Virgin Suicides directed by Sofia Coppola, and I am so glad I did. I loved this movie. It really does show how these girls were treated by their parents and sexualized by their male peers. I read many reviews on this movie that described it as warm yet so cold, and happy yet so sad. I have to agree, it was such a tragic movie, yet the cinematography and editing made it feel so sparkly and soft.
BOOKS/MUSIC
This month I read the book Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas. Although it is a bit spicy, I really did love the plot. Two people who have been pen pals for years have never met even though they only live a town over from one another in the time of social media. It’s a very interesting read especially when one meets the other and the other is unaware. I would definitely recommend it if you are into friends to lovers or enemies to lovers because this book is definitely that.
After that, I started reading People We Meet On Vacation by Emily Henry. Can you tell I’m on BookTok? So far it’s amazing, I love the relationship between Poppy and Alex. Their conversations are full of wit and both of them are extremely complex characters which I love. I’m about halfway through so I’ll finish reviewing this book on my stories and for next month’s recap.

JULY BABY!
Although I am biased, July is the best month in my opinion. My birthday is tomorrow and I am very excited to start listening to all of the songs about being seventeen and trying to relate them all to my life.
June was about relaxing, but in July I’ll be back on the grind. More blog posts, active on the stories, and more beach trips! Very excited to style some more people so let me know if you’d be interested in that.
xoxo, megs
